Mildred Minor Gregory and J.A. “Jug” Wallace, representing Newport’s Centennial Steering Committee, place a time capsule at the base of the Jacksonport overpass commemorating Newport’s centennial in 1975 and the nation’s bicentennial in 1976. Someone will have to remember to find this capsule in 2075.
